Supplies:
- White ribbon
- Copic marker colors of your choice
- Copic Ink #0 (colorless blender) and any ink colors of your choice
Ribbon Coloring Project: with markers
Step 1:
Cut the ribbon to a size of your choice. Place a sheet of blank paper under the ribbon in case the ink bleeds through. Then, turn your ribbon vertically and color the right half using the chisel tip of the marker. When coloring, you don’t need to worry about being exact. Even if the ink spreads on to the left side, the ink will blend later and bring a unique personality to the ribbon!
*If it’s your first time using Copic markers on ribbon, we suggest cutting small pieces of ribbon first to experiment with.

Step 2:
After the ink dries completely, color in the left half. Using the chisel nib for these first 2 steps will create crisp lines without any smudges.
Ribbon Coloring Project: with Copic Ink (Various Ink)
Step 1:
Apply several drops of Copic Ink #0 (Colorless Blender) directly on to the ribbon.
Step 2:
Apply a few drops of a light colored ink, leaving spaces between the drops.
Step 3:
Next, apply a darker color and let it spread over the ribbon. By letting the ink react to the fabric, as well as the ink already on the ribbon, the chemical reactions will create irregular and fun patterns!
Other ways to use Copic to make unique ribbon art:
-
By layering marker colors in the same color family, the result will be beautiful gradation effects with shine and lustre!
-
Blend Copic Ink BV07 and BV02 and make gradients. Then apply drops of Copic Ink #0 (Colorless Blender) randomly throughout the ribbon. The colorless blender will react with the ink already on the ribbon to make random dyes and will look atmospheric!
